QUANTITY SURVEYOR / BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE (CONSTRUCTION)

PH ASIA Construction Pte Ltd is a growing Singapore construction company specialising in hacking, demolition, masonry, tiling and reinstatement works for residential and commercial projects.

We are looking for a commercially driven and resourceful Quantity Surveyor / Business Development Executive who wants to play an active role in growing the company.

This is not a purely desk-based QS position. The successful candidate will work closely with management across tendering, costing, business development, client relationships and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor GeBIZ and other tender/RFQ platforms for suitable government and private-sector project opportunities

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, BOQs and contractual requirements

• Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimates, quotations and competitive tender submissions

• Coordinate tender documentation and assist with GeBIZ tender submissions

• Source quotations and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors

• Prepare and manage progress claims, variation orders and final accounts

• Monitor project costs, budgets and gross margins

• Develop and maintain the company's costing and pricing database

• Actively develop relationships with Interior Designers, Main Contractors, property/commercial partners and other industry contacts

• Introduce PH ASIA's hacking, demolition, tiling and reinstatement services to potential clients

• Follow up quotations and tender submissions and assist management in converting opportunities into awarded projects

• Attend site surveys, client meetings and tender briefings where required

• Assist in project planning, coordination, scheduling and progress monitoring after project award

• Work closely with management and site teams to ensure projects are commercially and operationally successful

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related discipline

• Relevant experience in the Singapore construction industry preferred

• Experience with a main contractor, subcontractor or renovation/construction company will be advantageous

• Strong knowledge of quantity take-off, costing, tendering and quotation preparation

• Experience with progress claims, variation orders and contract administration

• Experience with GeBIZ/public-sector tender sourcing and submission is highly preferred

• Able to read drawings and specifications independently

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and construction costing

• Comfortable communicating and building relationships with clients, Interior Designers, Main Contractors, suppliers and subcontractors

• Commercially minded with an interest in business development and securing new projects

• Able to attend site meetings and assist with project coordination when necessary

• Independent, responsible and willing to work in a growing SME environment

“Can we tender for this? What will it cost? What should we quote? Who should we contact? How can we improve our chances of securing the project?”

You will work directly with management and have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of the company's tender portfolio, Interior Designer network, contractor relationships and project pipeline.

Candidates with strong commercial ability, industry networks or a proven ability to help secure construction projects will be highly valued.
