The establishment is a first-of-its-kind secular,co-educational weekday residential programme providing after-school academic and holistic support to promising children from low-income households. Their mission is to empower scholars to envision and pursue futures beyond the limitations of their circumstances.
Position Overview
Th Senior Executive, Scholar & Community Wellbeing plays a critical role in nurturing a safe, inclusive, and empowering residential environment for scholars aged 12–13. Working closely with scholars,families, and internal teams, the staff will lead holistic development initiatives, provide socio-emotional and counselling support, and build a strong ecosystem of care around every scholar.
Key Responsibilities
1. Scholar Wellbeing & Safety
- Wellness Initiatives: Design and implement programs that enhance scholars’ mental, emotional, and physical well-being, fostering resilience, self-awareness, and confidence.
- Safety & Risk Management: Conduct regular safety and risk assessments to maintain a secure, supportive, and nurturing residential campus.
- Counselling Support: Provide direct counselling and guidance to scholars, helping them navigate residential living, personal challenges, and socio-emotional development.
2. Holistic Development & Goal Attainment
- Personalized Care Plans: Guide scholar growth through structured goal setting, wellness practices, and individual care plans that build self-efficacy and a growth mindset.
- Progress Tracking: Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of scholars’ well-being and developmental milestones.
- Resilience Workshops: Facilitate interactive sessions on mindfulness, self-reflection, and self-care to equip scholars with lifelong coping tools.
3. Family & Community Engagement
- Ecosystem Building: Partner with families, schools, and community stakeholders to create a unified network of support around each scholar.
- Community Events: Organize engagement activities and celebrations that honor scholar progress, reinforce shared values, and strengthen community belonging.
4. Attribute Building & Capability Development
- Staff Empowerment: Collaborating with the Scholar Development Team, design training and resources that prepare residential staff to respond effectively to crises and scholar needs.
- Values-Driven Leadership: Drive preventive initiatives anchored in the 6 ATTRIBUTES of our client, guiding scholars toward positive decision-making and strong personal values.
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Education, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in youth development, mentoring, residential care, or holistic student support (specifically working with early adolescents ages 12–13).
- Youth & Cultural Sensitivity: Deep understanding of youth development principles, with preferred experience supporting youths and families from low-income backgrounds.
- Interpersonal Excellence: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to build authentic, trusting relationships with scholars, families, and partners.
- Collaborative Mindset: Adaptable team player capable of driving independent initiatives while working cohesively in a cross-functional environment.
- Personal Attributes: Patient, reflective, empathetic, and committed to empowering youth toward self-sufficiency. Brings warmth, positivity, and a healthy sense of humor to residential life.
- Work Schedule: Ability to work part-time hours, specifically Monday to Thursday evenings (6:00 PM – 11:00 PM) and Sunday evenings.
