Role: Automation Analyst

Job Level: 6 to 9 yearsof relevant experience (L3)

Key Responsibilities

Automation & Engineering

• Develop, enhance, test, and maintain automationscripts, workflows, dashboards, and operational utilities.

• Translate operational requirements into practicalautomation solutions that reduce manual intervention and improve consistency.

• Integrate scripts and workflows with monitoring,observability, ITSM, and related operational platforms where required.

Monitoring & Observability

• Implement, configure, and maintain enterprisemonitoring and observability platforms covering infrastructure, applications,logs, and capacity.

• Create and enhance dashboards, alerts, thresholds,service views, reports, and basic anomaly detection configurations.

• Analyse alert patterns and implement tuning andnoise-reduction improvements without compromising monitoring coverage.

• Support onboarding of systems and applications intomonitoring platforms and validate data quality, coverage, and alert routing.

Operational Support & Analysis

• Monitor system health, performance, availability, and capacity indicators and investigate abnormal conditions.

• Perform technical troubleshooting for alerts, incidents, failed jobs, integrations, and monitoring gaps, escalating complex issues with clear evidence.

• Support incident, problem, and change activities, including impact analysis, implementation checks, validation, and post-change monitoring.

• Review monitoring, backup, logging, and related operational configurations to confirm that required controls are correctly implemented.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.

• Typically 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in automation, enterprise monitoring, observability, IT operations, or a related technical role.

• Demonstrable hands-on experience in scripting, monitoring configuration, dashboard or alert development, and operational support.

Technical Skills

• Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, including Linux and Windows operating systems, networks, storage, and virtualization.

• Practical scripting experience in at least one language such as Python, PowerShell, or Shell scripting.

• Hands-on exposure to one or more monitoring or observability tools such as BMC Helix, ITSM Helix Remedy, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Dynatrace, or Splunk.

• Experience with dashboards, alert rules, event analysis, log analysis, integrations, and operational troubleshooting.

• Understanding of cloud concepts, DevOps practices, CI/CD, APIs, version control, or AIOps concepts is advantageous.
