The NUS High School is a specialized school offering a seamless 6-year programme to students between the ages of 12+and 18 years and who have an aptitude for Mathematics and Science. We invite suitable applicants for the following position.

Adjunct Music Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Adjunct Music Teacher who is committed to nurturing high-ability learners through innovative, interdisciplinary, and technology-enhanced music education. The candidate should be able

• demonstrate the ability to hear well, play well, explain well, and connect well.
• deliver engaging music lessons for students aged12–18.
• teach effectively in large groups of mixed abilities while managing classroom dynamics positively.
• support both the musical development and character growth of students.
• apply innovative, creative, and relevant pedagogical strategies to engage and inspire diverse learners.
• contribute to the delivery of an integrated, interdisciplinary six-year curriculum.
• co-teacher to Performing Arts CCAs and undertake other responsibilities that support the school’s holistic education framework.
• learn and carry out departmental responsibilities that contribute to students’ holistic development.

Requirements

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Music or Music Education from a reputable university.
• At least 12 months of classroom teaching experience at the high school level.

• Proficiency in ICT and digital tools, including:

1. Microsoft Office 365
2. online teaching platforms (e.g. Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
3. notation software (e.g. MuseScore, Sibelius)
4. audio recording/editing tools
5. Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs)

• Enthusiastic and passionate about music and teaching, demonstrated through action.
• A strong team player with a growth mindset who is self-directed, proactive, and adaptable.

Employment Terms: mid-June to Nov (5-6 months)
