Operations Manager - Student Management (Contract)

Key Responsibilities
- Student Management & Discipline: Support teachers and the SMT in handling student discipline cases during recess and school activities. Supervise students serving detention or performing corrective work, and maintain accurate records of actions taken.
- Fact-Finding & Investigations: Assist the SMT in case fact-finding, conducting initial investigations into student management matters, and coordinating timely updates with parents or guardians.
- Safety & Security Patrols: Conduct regular walkabouts within the school grounds and around the perimeter. Monitor entry/exit points, manage peak crowd flows (arrival, dismissal, high-traffic events), and respond decisively to on-site incidents or emergencies.
- Administrative Operations: Maintain and update student database logs, track attendance to flag persistent absenteeism for follow-up, and prepare analytical discipline trend reports for the school leadership.
- Student Welfare & Briefings: Support student orientations regarding school rules, build positive relationships with pupils to encourage positive behavior, and refer at-risk individuals to school counsellors or Form Teachers.
- External Coordination: Act as a point of contact to coordinate with external support networks, including social services or relevant local authorities when necessary.
Working Hours & Schedule
- Days: Mondays to Fridays
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (includes a 1-hour lunch break)
- School Holidays: Services are generally not required during official school holidays, unless explicitly requested by the school authority with at least 3 days of advance notice
- Ad-hoc Extension: The personnel may occasionally be required to provide services beyond standard operating hours, subject to a 1-day advance notice by the school
- Rest Days: Services are strictly not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays
- Experience: Preferably 5 years of working experience in managing children, teenagers, or youth from diverse backgrounds. Strong prior experience in supervising disciplinary proceedings, case management, or behavior support is highly valued.
- Preferred Background: Former personnel from national uniform services (e.g., Singapore Armed Forces, Singapore Police Force, Singapore Civil Defence Force) are strongly preferred.
- Interpersonal Capabilities: Exceptional communication skills with a proven capability to engage students, parents, and school personnel effectively, including the capability to de-escalate conflicts and manage volatile situations calmly.
- Domain Knowledge: Highly familiar with restorative practices, case management workflows, and student support frameworks in an educational context.
- Technical & Admin Skills: Proficient in data entry, using standard Microsoft Office applications, report writing, and documentation.
- Certifications: Must hold a valid First Aid certificate, or demonstrate a clear willingness to obtain one prior to the commencement of active duties.
- Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates must be fully available to attend a mandatory interview and may be required to complete a scenario-based exercise to assess tactical suitabilities.
