Izakaya Chef - Orchard/Bugis (From 5 Days, $3,000-$4,500)

We are looking for an experienced Izakaya Chef to join our Japanese restaurant team in the Orchard or Bugis area.

Experience in Japanese hot kitchen operations will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Japanese izakaya dishes
• Prepare fish and sashimi for daily service
• Handle charcoal grilling and grilled dishes
• Prepare Japanese hot kitchen dishes
• Handle daily mise en place and ingredient preparation
• Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation and portioning
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen
• Assist with stock preparation, storage and inventory
• Follow food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures
• Work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen team members

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of professional Japanese kitchen experience
• Must have experience in either fish/sashimi preparation or charcoal grilling
• Experience in Japanese hot kitchen operations is an advantage
• Good knife skills and understanding of kitchen operations
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Responsible and reliable
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Able to work weekends and public holidays
• Food hygiene certification is an advantage

Salary

SGD $3,000 – $4,500 per month, depending on experience, ability and working schedule.
