VP, Marine Underwriting (Insurance Industry, $12k) (ID: 712156)

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and overall management of the Marine section to ensure seamless operations.
• Develop and implement effective sales and underwriting strategies to achieve targeted growth and profitability.
• Underwrite all marine cargo, cargo liabilities, and marine hull business within assigned authority limits, adhering to company guidelines and treaty terms.
• Seek treaty clearance as required and oversee the placement of facultative reinsurance per company security guidelines.
• Review renewal terms and proactively follow up on policy renewals to enhance business retention.
• Conduct or arrange training sessions for intermediaries and business partners.
• Engage in credit control and premium management activities.
• Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned by Senior Management.

Requirements

• Related University or Professional Qualifications.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in underwriting or related operational roles within multinational or local organizations.
• Solid experience and knowledge in underwriting Marine Cargo and Hull business.
• Strong business analysis skills with a focus on delivering results.
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
• Proven leadership capability, demonstrating resourcefulness and flexibility in people interactions.
