Dreamkids Kindergarten is a boutique preschool in the East Coast of Singapore. We believe that children learn best when they feel known, supported and curious about the world around them.

Our approach combines play, inquiry and intentional teaching to build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, thinking, independence, social-emotional development and character — without rushing childhood.

We are looking for a warm, reflective and committed Early Years / Kindergarten Teacher who understands and is comfortable working with an inquiry-based approach to learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young children.
• Use an inquiry-based approach, following children's questions, interests, observations and emerging ideas to deepen their learning.
• Facilitate play-based, hands-on and project-based learning experiences rather than relying primarily on worksheets.
• Know how to use provocations, questioning, observation and documentation to extend children's thinking and guide the direction of an inquiry.
• Balance child-led exploration with intentional teaching and clear learning objectives.
• Support children's holistic development across language and literacy, numeracy, discovery of the world, physical development and social-emotional learning.
• Observe children closely and use these observations to plan appropriate next steps in learning.
• Document children's learning and make their thinking visible through learning stories, displays, portfolios and other forms of documentation.
• Conduct developmental observations and maintain accurate records of children's progress.
• Create a safe, purposeful and engaging learning environment that encourages independence, confidence and curiosity.
• Develop warm and respectful relationships with children and provide appropriate guidance and support.
• Build strong partnerships with parents through regular communication and sharing of children's learning.
• Collaborate closely with teaching partners and the wider Dreamkids team.
• Participate in curriculum planning, school projects, learning journeys and professional development.
• Maintain appropriate health, safety, hygiene and classroom practices in accordance with school and ECDA requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or recognised qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education or equivalent.
• ECDA-certified L2 educator, depending on the teaching level.
• Experience working with young children in a preschool setting.
• Good understanding of inquiry-based learning and the inquiry process.
• Able to observe children's interests and questions and translate them into meaningful learning experiences.
• Comfortable facilitating discussions, investigations, experimentation and project work with children.
• Understands the role of the teacher as a facilitator of learning, while providing appropriate intentional teaching and scaffolding.
• Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practice.
• Passionate about play-based and child-centred learning.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Reflective, responsible, organised and willing to continually improve one's teaching practice.
• Able to work collaboratively within a small teaching team.
• Good written and spoken English.
