Job Summary
Joyme Art Studio seeks a passionate Chinese Calligraphy Teacher to instruct and inspire students aged 4 to adult. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in the Regular Script (Kaishu 楷书) style to foster appreciation, cultural understanding, and foundational script skills through engaging lessons and effective communication with students and parents.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging Chinese calligraphy lessons tailored to students aged 4 years to adults to develop proper brush techniques, stroke order, and structural mastery
- Communicate clearly and patiently with young children to maintain their interest and active participation during calligraphy practice
- Present student progress and class updates to parents to build trust and support long-term student development
- Liaise with stakeholders using bilingual communication skills in English and Mandarin to ensure clear understanding and seamless collaboration
- Utilize social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and XiaoHongShu to showcase calligraphy works, promote studio activities, and engage the community
- Perform simple video editing to create promotional or instructional calligraphy content for social media and studio marketing
- Manage weekend teaching schedules and adapt to flexible working hours to meet studio operational needs
Preferred Competencies and Qualifications
- Possess a Master’s Degree in Chinese Calligraphy demonstrating advanced training, historical knowledge, and deep technical expertise
- Have at least 5 years of teaching experience in a calligraphy studio, school setting, or cultural enrichment centre to ensure instructional effectiveness and strong classroom management
- Maintain a portfolio of past works to showcase calligraphy proficiency, writing styles, and artistic experience
Other Information
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 am to 8:40 pm; Saturday, 8:30 am to 8:40 pm; Sunday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm; with 2 rest days planned weekly
- Salary: Based on qualifications and experience
