We are looking for a qualified and experienced Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) to oversee workplace safety and health matters within a semiconductor/manufacturing environment.

Reporting directly to the Deputy General Manager, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining WSH policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing workplace risks and promoting a strong safety culture across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain the Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) in line with company policies and statutory requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, WSH regulations, Codes of Practice and other applicable requirements.

  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, safety audits and risk assessments to identify hazards, unsafe conditions and non-compliance.

  • Monitor and enforce safe work practices, including PPE, Permit-to-Work (PTW), Safe Work Procedures (SWP) and Risk Assessments (RA).

  • Review and update Risk Assessments, Safe Work Procedures and other WSH-related documents based on changes in work activities and workplace conditions.

  • Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, WSH training and safety awareness programmes for employees, contractors and subcontractors.

  • Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with required safety standards, training, permits, certifications and documentation.

  • Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences, including identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.

  • Maintain proper WSH records, safety statistics, inspection reports, training records, audit findings and corrective action reports.

  • Coordinate and support internal/external safety audits, regulatory inspections and certification activities.

  • Participate in WSH meetings and safety committee activities, and provide recommendations to Management on workplace safety risks and improvements.

  • Support emergency preparedness and response, including emergency procedures, evacuation plans and safety drills.

  • Monitor WSH performance and recommend improvements based on safety trends, inspection findings, incidents and audit results.

  • Perform other WSH-related duties and ad hoc tasks assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Possess Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Level 3 or equivalent.

  • Possess a valid WSH Officer Certificate.

  • MOM-registered WSH Officer (WSHO) with at least 5 years of registration experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant WSH experience, preferably within a semiconductor, manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.

  • Good knowledge of Singapore WSH regulations, requirements and safety practices.

  • Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to work independently and collaborate effectively with different departments, contractors and stakeholders.

  • Proactive, responsible and committed to maintaining a safe workplace.
