Job Overview

WALA Technology Pte. Ltd. is seeking a qualified Senior Microgrid & Electrical Systems Technician to oversee the operational integrity, monitoring, and routine preventative maintenance of an integrated hybrid power generation facility (combining Diesel Generators, Solar PV installations, and Battery Energy Storage Systems) situated at the Dormitory site.

Note: Onsite accommodation is provided. Candidates should be comfortable being based at the site facility in the Tanah Merah / Changi sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diesel Generator Fleet Maintenance: Conduct daily physical inspections, monitor operational parameters (fuel/coolant levels, oil pressure, voltage), perform scheduled routine servicing (oil/filter changes), track daily fuel logs for tariff accounting, and verify synchronisation functions during grid or solar transitions.

  • Solar PV Array Supervision: Perform visual inspections of mounting structures and PV modules, coordinate array cleaning schedules with contractors, monitor inverter display codes, and log daily solar output generation (kWh).

  • Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Operations: Monitor battery state of charge (SOC), cell balancing, and thermal health via the Battery Management System (BMS) interface, log charge/discharge cycles, and manage environmental cooling systems.

  • System Integration & Tariff Data Logging: Oversee smooth power transfers between solar, battery storage, diesel generators, and grid sources without interruption. Record monthly meter data and fuel consumption figures required for tariff calculations.

  • Workplace Safety & Compliance: Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols during electrical maintenance, participate in monthly emergency simulations (generator/battery fire drills), and maintain daily operational logbooks.

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum Diploma, Higher NITEC, or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Renewable Energy, or a related technical discipline.

  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of practical experience operating diesel generator sets, commercial solar PV systems, or industrial energy storage systems.

  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with BMS/inverter interfaces, electrical single-line diagrams, circuit breakers, and basic electrical troubleshooting.

  • Work Arrangement: Willingness to be stationed onsite at the dormitory facility and work 44 hours per week (Monday through Saturday).

Working Hours & Employee Benefits
