About EduOwl English Academy

EduOwl English Academy is a boutique English education firm in Singapore, founded by a former MOE Overseas Teaching Scholar and secondary school English teacher.

We help students build strong English foundations and achieve the grades they need for their next stage of education.

MOE / School Programmes

  • Weekly English bridging programmes with ASEAN Scholars through MOE-related projects

PSLE & O-Level English

  • 1-to-1 and small-group English tuition

  • Examination preparation and skills development

AEIS English Preparation

  • English preparation for international students studying in Singapore

  • Support with the English requirements needed for admission into Singapore schools

As we expand, we are looking for good English tutors who genuinely enjoy working with young people and want to develop their teaching craft.

Who We Are Looking For

You do not need years of teaching experience to apply. We are more interested in your English ability, personality, communication skills and willingness to learn.

Requirements

  • Strong English proficiency

  • O-Level English B3 or above is an advantage

  • A good General Paper (GP) grade is an advantage

  • Comfortable working with primary and/or secondary school students

  • Able to commit consistently to 6–20 teaching hours every week

  • Available mainly during non-school hours, including weekday late afternoons and evenings, as well as weekend mornings and afternoons

More importantly, you should:

  • Enjoy working with young people

  • Be approachable and able to build rapport with students

  • Be patient when students struggle

  • Be able to explain concepts clearly and simply

  • Be willing to learn and continuously improve your teaching

  • Take responsibility for preparing for lessons and understanding your students' needs

  • Be reliable and consistent in your weekly commitments

Teaching experience is an advantage, but not a strict requirement for the right candidate.

What We Look For In Our Tutors

We want tutors who can do more than simply explain the answer.

A good EduOwl tutor should be able to understand why a student is struggling, explain concepts in a way the student can understand, and help the student become more confident and independent over time.

You will be given guidance and opportunities to develop your teaching approach as you gain experience with us.

What You Can Expect

  • $60–$100/hour, depending on the programme, experience and teaching requirements

  • Flexible part-time teaching opportunities

  • Opportunities to teach different student profiles and programmes

  • Exposure to PSLE, O-Level, AEIS and school-based English programmes

  • Guidance and feedback to help you improve as a tutor

  • Potential for a larger teaching portfolio and increased responsibilities as EduOwl expands

Who This Role May Suit

This role may suit:

  • Current university students with strong English

  • Graduates looking to develop their teaching experience

  • Experienced tutors looking for more structured opportunities

  • Former teachers who enjoy working with students

  • Individuals who are considering education as a longer-term career

If you enjoy English, enjoy working with young people and want to become a better teacher, not just a tutor, we'd like to hear from you.

To apply, please send us your CV and a short introduction about yourself, including your English qualifications, teaching/tutoring experience (if any), and your weekly availability.
