Accounts Assistant

Job Overview

Established for over 40 years, Continental Steel is a premier steel supplier in Southeast Asia. We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our team. This is a junior position suitable for someone with some accounting experience who is willing to learn and comfortable handling day-to-day accounting and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily accounting entries and maintain accurate records in the accounting system
• Handle basic bookkeeping and data entry
• Assist with accounts receivable, including collections and follow-up on outstanding payments
• Prepare payments through internet banking
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Assist in preparing debtor and creditor ageing reports
• Maintain proper filing and documentation of invoices, payment records and other accounting documents
• Support the Finance team in the transition to a new ERP system
• Provide general administrative support to the Finance team
• Assist with other accounting duties as assigned

Requirements

• Diploma / LCCI in Accounting, Finance or equivalent qualification
• Some prior accounting or bookkeeping experience is preferred; candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience are welcome to apply
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles
• Prior experience using an ERP or accounting system would be an advantage
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central would be an added advantage, but is not required
• Comfortable learning and working with new systems and processes
• Familiar with Microsoft Excel and basic computer applications
• Comfortable with routine accounting work, data entry and documentation
• Organized with good attention to detail
• Responsible, hands-on and willing to learn
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Only Singaporeans
