Job Summary

Join The Cat Vet as an experienced Vet Tech to assist vets, manage reception duties, run lab tests, and maintain a calm, cat-friendly clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the reception desk, bookings, and respond to phone and email queries to provide a welcoming first point of contact for clients
• Support veterinarians during consultations, treatments, and surgeries, including monitoring anaesthesia to ensure patient safety
• Perform in-house laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic imaging to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment
• Prepare feline patients for procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout
• Handle clinic administrative tasks including billing and stock management to maintain smooth clinic operations
• Maintain a clean, calm, and cat-friendly clinic environment to reduce stress for patients and clients
• Build warm, lasting relationships with clients and their cats to foster trust and ongoing care

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum 1+ years of experience as a vet tech, vet nurse, or veterinary assistant

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Confident and warm client-facing communication skills to effectively manage front-of-house interactions
• Strong English communication skills, organizational ability, and reliability as a team player
• Genuine compassion for cats and willingness to care for sick animals, including cleaning duties
• Flexibility to work weekends as part of a roster, with 4 or 5 working days per week
