WORKING HOURS

  • Mondays to Fridays: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm

  • Includes a one-hour lunch break.

  • Services are generally not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.

  • The successful candidate may occasionally be required to support school events after office hours or on weekends.

JOB OVERVIEW

The AV Support Officer will manage and maintain the school’s public-address, audio-visual and broadcasting resources. The officer will also provide technical support for school events and train students and staff in the proper use of AV and broadcasting equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Public-Address System

  • Train and guide the student PA crew to operate the Public-Address System during assemblies, chapel sessions and school events.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot and maintain the school’s PA systems.

  • Escalate unresolved technical problems to the relevant vendors.

  • Coordinate with vendors for equipment installation, maintenance and repair work.

Audio-Visual Resources

  • Set up and manage AV equipment for major school events.

  • Attend to AV setup requests from staff and approved external parties.

  • Maintain accurate inventory and equipment-loan records.

  • Conduct regular checks on AV and PA equipment.

  • Manage AV equipment installed in classrooms and special rooms.

  • Monitor equipment usage and perform maintenance every school term.

  • Conduct half-yearly preventive maintenance for classroom projectors, visualisers and other standard equipment.

  • Troubleshoot AV problems and recommend effective technical solutions.

  • Guide students in the safe and proper handling of AV equipment.

  • Assist with the condemnation and disposal process for obsolete AV resources.

Consultation and Procurement Support

  • Advise the HOD (ICT) on the school’s AV requirements.

  • Work with vendors to propose suitable solutions based on technical specifications and market pricing.

  • Assist with the purchase of AV equipment and services through bulk tenders, tenders and quotations.

  • Ensure that AV purchasing activities comply with the school’s procurement guidelines.

Broadcasting and Livestreaming

  • Provide technical support for live and recorded school events.

  • Support major events such as the school’s Founder’s Day Service.

  • Operate livestreaming equipment and broadcasting platforms such as YouTube Live and Facebook Live.

  • Manage and supervise students supporting live-event productions.

  • Train and mentor students in livestreaming and event broadcasting.

  • Provide basic video-editing support.

Other Duties

  • Support video-conferencing tools used for staff training, school events and synchronous lessons.

  • Provide updated AV and broadcasting training to teachers and students when required.

  • Provide AV support for listening-comprehension examinations.

  • Assist the school’s ICT team in diagnosing basic IT problems.

  • Support printing, laminating, CD duplication and video-recording services.

  • Carry out basic equipment repairs using relevant technical skills, including soldering where necessary.

  • Support teachers in teaching and learning activities as instructed by the HOD (ICT).

  • Perform other related duties assigned by the school.

  • Support occasional school events held after office hours or on weekends.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant certification in audio, video, media production or a related discipline is preferred.

  • At least one year of working experience with AV equipment.

  • At least one year of experience supporting live broadcasting events.

  • At least one year of working experience in a school-based environment.

  • Familiar with PA systems, projectors, visualisers, livestreaming equipment and video-conferencing tools.

  • Familiar with platforms such as YouTube Live and Facebook Live.

  • Basic video-editing and equipment-repair skills.

  • Knowledge of soldering or other technical repair work would be advantageous.

  • Able to troubleshoot technical problems independently.

  • Comfortable working with and training secondary school students.

  • Good communication, organisation and vendor-coordination skills.

  • Able to commit to the entire contract period.
