Key responsibilities
Technical Inspections
Carry out Pre-Docking Inspections to assess vessel condition and prepare repair specifications.
Attend vessels during Dry Docking to supervise repair works, steel renewals, blasting, coating and machinery overhauls.
Perform Pre-Purchase Inspections (PPI) for ship owners, investors and financial institutions.
Conduct vessel condition assessments and prepare comprehensive technical reports.
Carry out structural inspections of hull, cargo holds, ballast tanks, machinery spaces and deck equipment.
Perform damage assessments following marine incidents.
BWTS & Environmental Systems
Attend onboard Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS) Commissioning.
Conduct BWTS troubleshooting, annual servicing and calibration.
Carry out commissioning tests and operational verification.
Support retrofit installation planning and execution.
Engineering & Retrofit Projects
Perform onboard engineering measurements.
Conduct 3D Laser Scanning of machinery spaces, ballast piping, engine rooms and structural arrangements.
Develop engineering solutions for retrofit projects.
Prepare feasibility studies for vessel modifications.
Produce retrofit engineering packages and installation drawings.
Engineering Design
Prepare:
General Arrangement (GA) Drawings
Piping Layouts
Isometric Drawings
Fabrication Drawings
Structural Modification Drawings
Support Arrangement Drawings
Equipment Foundation Drawings
Perform engineering calculations for structural modifications and piping supports.
Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and fabrication documentation.
Project Management
Coordinate with shipowners, ship managers, classification societies and shipyards.
Prepare project schedules and technical documentation.
Supervise contractors during onboard execution.
Ensure projects are completed within schedule and budget.

Retrofit Proposals
Technical Recommendations
Compliance
Ensure all inspections comply with Classification Society requirements.
Ensure compliance with IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL and Flag State regulations.
Follow company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) procedures.
Travel Requirements
The position requires frequent international travel.
The employee shall attend vessels at:
Shipyards
Commercial ports
Anchorages
Offshore terminals
Floating production and storage facilities
Newbuilding yards
Worldwide travel is an essential requirement of this position.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering.
Experience in merchant vessels, shipyards, or marine consultancy.
Good understanding of ship structures, stability, piping systems and marine regulations.
Familiarity with Classification Society Rules (DNV, ABS, LR, BV, ClassNK, RINA, etc.).
Experience with 3D laser scanning and point cloud processing is an advantage.
