Gelateria Assistant

We are looking for an energetic and reliable Assistant Cook & Gelateria Assistant to join our team.

The ideal candidate must have experience and should be comfortable serving gelato and assisting with the daily operation of the gelateria. The person must be friendly with customers, organised and able to work efficiently during busy periods.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare batters, sauces, toppings, fruits and other ingredients.
• Serve gelato according to the correct portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Prepare gelato cups, cones, sundaes and other gelato-based desserts.
• Welcome customers warmly and assist them in choosing flavours and products.
• Maintain an attractive, clean and well-stocked gelato display.
• Monitor stock levels and place orders for ingredients, packaging and supplies.
• Receive deliveries and check the quality and quantity of all items.
• Follow recipes, portion-control guidelines and food-cost standards.
• Store ingredients correctly and minimise waste.
• Maintain excellent hygiene, cleanliness and food-safety standards.
• Clean and organise all workstations, utensils, machines and storage areas.
• Support the kitchen and front-of-house teams whenever required.

Requirements

• Experience in a gelateria, dessert shop, café or similar environment is preferred.
• Friendly and confident when serving customers.
• Basic knowledge of inventory control and ordering.
• Strong attention to taste, presentation, cleanliness and portion control.
• Able to work quickly and efficiently under pressure.
• Reliable, organised and committed to teamwork.
• Available to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
