SALES ASSISTANT (RESTAURANT )

We are seeking a dedicated, customer-oriented, and experienced Shop Sales Assistant to support the daily operations of our restaurant and catering retail outlet. The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, promote and sell food products, assist with catering enquiries, and ensure the smooth operation of the shop while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service.

• Recommend and promote restaurant menu items, catering packages, and retail products.

• Process customer purchases, takeaway orders, and catering enquiries accurately.

• Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system and handle cash, card, and digital payments.

• Coordinate with the kitchen and catering teams to ensure timely preparation and collection of orders.

• Maintain attractive product displays and ensure shelves are fully stocked.

• Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment and stocktaking.

• Ensure cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.

• Handle customer feedback and resolve service issues professionally.

• Assist in opening and closing the shop, including daily sales reconciliation.

• Support promotional activities and upsell products to achieve sales targets.

• Perform other duties assigned by the Shop Manager or Management.

• Minimum 10 years of proven working experience in the Restaurant & Catering industry is mandatory.

• At least 10 years of experience in restaurant operations, catering services, food retail, or food & beverage sales.

• Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, catering services, food products, and customer service standards.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.

• Proven sales ability with confidence in promoting products and upselling.

• Experience operating POS systems, handling cash, and managing daily sales transactions.

• Good organisational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations.

• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate loads.

• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.

• Proficient in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
