Key Responsibilities
Instrumentation & Control Systems
Design, develop, and implement instrumentation and control systems for construction and engineering projects.
Select and specify appropriate sensors, transmitters, control valves, and other instrumentation equipment.
Prepare technical drawings, wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and control schematics.
Install, calibrate, and commission field instruments and control systems.
Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
PLC Programming & Automation
Develop, program, and maintain PLC-based control systems.
Configure and troubleshoot PLC hardware and software.
Integrate PLC systems with HMI, SCADA, and other automation platforms.
Modify and optimize control logic to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
Provide technical support for automation systems during installation and commissioning.
Equipment Installation & Commissioning
Supervise installation of instrumentation and control equipment at construction sites.
Ensure correct wiring, signal testing, and system integration.
Support commissioning activities and ensure systems meet operational requirements.
Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and project teams during system implementation.
Machining & Fabrication Support
Operate or support machining processes required for fabrication of mechanical components or instrumentation mounts.
Assist in designing and fabricating brackets, panels, enclosures, or custom parts for instrumentation systems.
Ensure precision machining and adherence to engineering specifications.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform preventive maintenance on control systems and instrumentation equipment.
Diagnose and resolve faults in automation systems, sensors, and control loops.
Maintain documentation for system configurations, maintenance records, and modifications.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure all work complies with relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Participate in risk assessments and safety procedures for project execution.
Maintain proper documentation and reporting for engineering activities.
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Professional certification in Instrumentation and Control Engineering is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of PLC programming and automation systems.
Experience with instrumentation devices such as sensors, transmitters, and control valves.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.
Knowledge of machining techniques and mechanical fabrication processes.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Good communication and technical documentation skills.
Experience
10 to 12 years of relevant experience in instrumentation, automation, or control systems within construction, industrial, or engineering environments preferred.
