Nutrition & Food Science (NFS) Assistant

Job Description & Responsibilities

• Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure the general cleanliness of all equipment and work surfaces in the Cookery Rooms and Food Labs to support a hygienic environment for teaching.
• Lesson Preparation: Assist teachers by prepping, measuring, mincing, and apportioning ingredients before practical sessions.
• Inventory Control: Monitor and manage the stock levels of food ingredients to ensure reliable classroom supplies.
• Post-Lesson Cleanup: Clean workbenches, sinks, floors (sweeping/mopping), and empty rubbish bins immediately after lessons.
• General Duties: Complete additional ad-hoc tasks assigned by school supervisors or leaders.

• Education: Minimum completion of Primary School education.
• Language: Able to speak and understand simple English.
• Skills: Excellent personal hygiene standards when handling raw food ingredients.
• Attributes: Meticulous, service-oriented, efficient with deadlines.
• Preference: Prior experience as an NFS Assistant within an MOE school context is highly advantageous.

Working Hours

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
• Fridays: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)
• Off on Saturdays, Sundays, and Gazetted Public Holidays
