Job Summary

Lead and mentor a software development team to deliver high-quality enterprise software and Industrial IoT projects. Collaborate with stakeholders and coordinate Offshore Development Centre activities to ensure timely, efficient software delivery.

Responsibilities

Software Development Leadership

• Lead and mentor the software development team to enhance technical skills and productivity
• Provide technical guidance on software design and implementation to ensure robust solutions
• Review application designs and source code to maintain quality and adherence to standards
• Promote software engineering best practices and coding standards to improve code quality
• Assist developers in resolving technical challenges to maintain project momentum

Software Delivery

• Coordinate software development activities across the project lifecycle to meet delivery goals
• Monitor project schedules, milestones, and technical deliverables to ensure timely completion
• Track development progress and identify potential risks or delays for proactive mitigation
• Participate actively in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and project review meetings to align teams
• Support production deployment and post-implementation activities to ensure smooth releases

Offshore Development Centre (ODC)

• Lead and support the Offshore Development Centre in Vietnam and/or Malaysia to align with project objectives
• Coordinate development activities with the Offshore Engineering Lead to synchronize efforts
• Mentor offshore software developers and encourage continuous learning for skill enhancement
• Support technical interviews and onboarding of new developers to build a strong team
• Foster collaboration between Singapore and offshore teams to enhance communication and productivity

Project & Stakeholder Support

• Prepare project status updates and technical progress reports for transparent communication
• Work closely with the Programme Director to monitor overall project delivery and resolve issues
• Participate in customer meetings to provide technical input and address client concerns
• Communicate project progress, technical issues, and proposed solutions clearly to stakeholders
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production release activities to ensure quality outcomes

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Proficiency in Node.js, NestJS, Java, or Python for backend development
• Experience with Vue.js or React for frontend development
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs design and implementation
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or MySQL database management
• Experience using Git and Git workflows for version control
• Understanding of Docker containerization technology
• Basic knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation
• Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS cloud platforms
• Background in Industrial IoT, enterprise software development, cloud applications, smart buildings, industrial automation, or real-time monitoring and analytics platforms
