Founded in 1948 by the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel, Boys' Town began as a residential home for boys affected by the war and has since expanded to provide a continuum of services for children and youth in need.

Today, Boys' Town serves both boys and girls, from infants to young adults, many from disadvantaged or disengaged families who have experienced challenges such as neglect, abandonment, or abuse. Boys' Town provides holistic and integrated services including residential care, fostering services, respite care, youth outreach, adventure-based therapy, and clinical intervention.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Description & Requirements

Job purpose

To ensure Operations in Boys' Town TGH run smoothly in the area of manpower, promote a child safe environment and enhance the youth's general well-being.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and accountabilities

FUNCTIONAL

Assist Manager, TGH in his/her duties, and to cover the Manager, TGH, in his/her absence.

To work collaboratively with the Social Workers and clinical team in implementing relevant intervention and treatment for our residents.

To maintain the fidelity of the TGH model of care (Trauma Systems Therapy - TST)

Provides developmentally appropriate and trauma-informed care by applying principles of trauma, attachment and resilience, and an understanding of child and adolescent development.

To coordinate, monitor operations and to provide feedback, updates and recommendations to the Manager, TGH, on a regular basis.

To monitor Youth Specialists portfolio and their budget expenditure.

To train and align new hires (eg Youth Specialist) to Boys' Town SOPs.

To provide regular supervision to Senior Youth Specialists and Youth Specialists.

To ensure the residents and staff follow Boys' Town Code of Conduct.

To plan and revise daily/holiday programme for the residents.

To motivate and actively engage our residents to participate in the daily and Boys' Town programmes.

To review and print new Handbook to new residents and explain rules and regulations in Boys' Town.

Work in close collaboration with the other staff of the Home and of the other components of Boys' Town in matters pertaining to the welfare of our residents.

To carry out any other assigned administrative duties in support of other programmes.

To furnish the Manager -TGH, with the compiled monthly/quarterly report for MSF and Boys' Town.

Support/ conduct research when called upon for their respective functions.

Maintain complete confidentiality of all information pertaining to the residents of Boys' Town

Be flexible in your working hours, according to the needs of the programmes and residents.

MANAGERIAL

To assist the Manager -TGH, in ensuring compliance of policies and regulatory requirements of Boys' Town, MSF and other governing bodies together with keeping proper documentation as required.

To ensure that all documents (SOPs, Portfolio, Fire-drill Report, BOV Report) are ready for checking by the management.

To assist in the planning and monitoring of budget and duty rostering for the youth workers

To assist the Manager in providing orientation, mentorship, and supervision for new and existing youth workers on their respective portfolios.

To participate in mid-level management planning and discussions i.e. Interviewing of new Youth Specialists.

To assist Manager-TGH and Head of Residential Services in the areas of CCTV review and investigation of offences.

To assist Manager -TGH in pocket money disbursement.

To participate in setting and tracking of annual KPIs for the respective portfolios.

To contribute to policy making within the home by providing feedback to senior management.

ORGANIZATIONAL

To contribute to policy making within the organization by providing feedback to senior management

To participate actively in all fundraising activities as well as any other commitments that Boys' Town undertakes.

To work in close collaboration with other staff, department and components of Boys' Town.

The Executive Director and or his/her representative may assign you any other duties that are within reason for the benefit of the clients and/or Boys' Town.

COMPENTENCIES REQUIREMENTS

Executive functioning skills - planning, coordinating, organizing , implementing and evaluating

Administrative - documentation, filing, report writing

Understanding the impact of residential or CYP and able to preempt and address the developmental needs of children/CYP.

Mentoring and Coaching Skills

Interpersonal - able to communicate and interact with people, both individually and in groups

Should have appropriate attributes, values and aptitude to manage this profile of clients such as but not limited to the following:

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications & Relevant Experience

Degree (preferably in social work or psychology or equivalent qualification).

Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience.

Experience in people management (preferably).

Demonstrates leadership qualities to lead and build capability of staff.

Ability to manage relationships and broker services with multiple stakeholders for TGH.

Experience in operational management of a cliental facility.

Professional knowledge and understanding of children with high level of needs.
