Contract type: Full time

About the opportunity

Our client is a leading international organisation seeking a Business Consultant.

This is an internal consulting role embedded within the legal function. It is not an external sales or management consulting position. You will partner with lawyers, legal project management professionals and business stakeholders to improve how legal matters are planned, managed and delivered.

The position combines business transformation, project management, process improvement, data analysis and the adoption of AI-enabled tools and legal technology. You will work with regional and international stakeholders and contribute to the organisation’s wider legal transformation programme.

What you will be responsible for

  • Partner with lawyers and business stakeholders to structure, plan and manage legal matters and transformation initiatives.

  • Develop project plans, timelines and governance processes covering scope, workstreams, responsibilities, milestones, dependencies, deadlines and fees.

  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or delays and recommend practical solutions.

  • Facilitate communication across internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring that decisions, responsibilities and next steps are clear.

  • Take ownership of smaller transformation projects and defined workstreams from planning through implementation.

  • Identify opportunities to apply AI, automation and legal technology to improve legal workflows, matter management and service delivery.

  • Support the assessment, testing and implementation of AI-enabled tools, including the identification of appropriate business use cases.

  • Work with legal, technology and business stakeholders to translate operational requirements into practical AI and digital-transformation solutions.

  • Support user adoption and change-management activities for new AI tools, automated workflows and legal technologies.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of transformation initiatives and help measure improvements in efficiency, quality, user experience and business outcomes.

  • Promote the responsible use of AI by considering data quality, confidentiality, risk, governance and appropriate human oversight.

  • Analyse operational, project and financial data using tools such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI.

  • Translate data into clear business insights, recommendations and presentations for different stakeholder groups.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency and strengthen the delivery of legal services.

  • Support matter financial management, including fee monitoring, reporting and coordination of the billing process.

  • Prepare meeting agendas, progress updates, decision papers and other project documentation when required.

  • Contribute to other legal transformation and business-improvement initiatives as the programme develops.

What we are looking for

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Experience in business consulting, transformation, legal operations, project management, PMO or a related environment.

  • Exposure to AI-enabled transformation, automation, digital adoption or technology-driven process improvement.

  • An understanding of how AI can be applied to improve business processes, workflows and decision-making.

  • Previous experience working within a legal, professional-services or other complex international organisation would be advantageous.

  • Strong project-management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage several priorities and deadlines.

  • A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and the confidence to take ownership of defined projects and workstreams.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with large or complex data sets.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Project, SharePoint or Power Automate would be beneficial.

  • Experience with, or a strong interest in, generative AI, automation and emerging legal technologies.

  • The ability to evaluate business needs and identify where AI or technology could deliver meaningful improvements.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to senior stakeholders.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across different functions, seniority levels and countries.

  • Careful attention to detail, sound judgement and a structured approach to resolving problems.

  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving international environment.

Technical AI-development or programming experience is not required. The role is focused on identifying business needs, supporting transformation and helping legal teams adopt AI-enabled solutions effectively and responsibly.

Why consider this role?

  • Join an internal legal team rather than working in an external consulting-sales position.

  • Gain hands-on exposure to AI-enabled legal transformation and emerging technologies.

  • Contribute to the identification, testing and adoption of practical AI use cases.

  • Work directly with lawyers, operational leaders, technology teams and senior business stakeholders.

  • Build experience across consulting, project delivery, AI adoption, process improvement and data analytics.

  • Take ownership of meaningful projects that improve how legal services are delivered.

If you are commercially minded, analytical and interested in transforming the way legal teams operate through technology and AI, we would welcome your application.
