Our client is a global MNC technology company specializing in photonics, precision optics, and advanced manufacturing solutions across multiple high-tech industries. They are located at the West.

The Fiber Optics Manufacturing Engineer, Senior will be responsible for:

  • Developing, validating, and optimizing manufacturing processes for fiber optic termination, polishing, and precision optical assembly to achieve high-quality, high-yield production.
  • Lead the development, transfer, and scale-up of new manufacturing processes and production lines for optical fiber assemblies and precision products.
  • Design and implement ultra-clean manufacturing processes and contamination control standards within a semiconductor cleanroom environment.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance productivity, yield, quality, cycle time, and manufacturing cost using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) activities to ensure smooth product transfer from development to mass production.
  • Conduct process validation, tooling development, and risk assessments (e.g., FMEA) to establish robust and reliable manufacturing processes.
  • Utilize statistical and structured problem-solving tools (SPC, DOE, 8D, Root Cause Analysis) to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and improve process capability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Production, Quality, and Supply Chain, to deliver projects on schedule while meeting quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
  • Engage with customers during technical discussions, process reviews, and issue escalations, providing timely updates and effective technical solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, including laser safety and cleanroom practices, while promoting a strong safety culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience within the optics, photonics, laser, semiconductor, or other precision manufacturing industries.
  • Hands-on experience in process development, process validation, NPI, and manufacturing scale-up.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and statistical tools, including DOE, SPC, FMEA, 8D, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Experience working in cleanroom or high-precision manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of optical fiber assembly, laser systems, optical alignment, or contamination control will be an added advantage.
