Marine Project Manager

ROLE DESCRIPTION
The Marine Project Manager / Manager is dynamic and result-oriented, preferably holding an OEM-certified technical leadership in marine safety, LSA/FFA systems, and calibration operations. He / She should have proven expertise in leading project execution, managing technical teams, coordinating vessel overhaul schedules, and maintaining strict compliance with IMO, SOLAS, and class society regulations. He / She is adept at resource planning, client liaison, quality assurance, and delivery complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage end-to-end project execution for marine safety system overhauls, statutory inspections (LSA/FFA), and calibration contracts for commercial and offshore vessels.
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams in executing complex maintenance, pressure testing, and certification of high-pressure CO2 systems, fixed FM200, fixed foam, and water mist installations.
- Oversee project scheduling, resource allocation, and quality control for lifeboat, rescue boat, davit, and hydraulic launching appliance load testing and overhauls.
- Manage client relationships, technical consultations, job estimation, and deliver detailed engineering completion reports in full compliance with SOLAS & class standards.
- Be responsible for direct workshop and detailed operations for OEM-certified servicing of life-saving appliances and precision calibration of multi-gas detectors, UTI meters, and pressure calibrators.
- Coordinate onboard and workshop project tasks for marine safety equipment, ensuring timely delivery, budget management, and compliance with safety standards.
- Supervise the inspection, testing and certification lifecycle for inflatable life rafts, lifejackets, and portable/semi-portable fire extinguishing systems.
- Manage breathing apparatus (SCBA/EEBD) maintenance projects, BA compressor overhauls, and medical oxygen resuscitator servicing.
- Act as the Central Coordinator for project workflows, technical documentation, and quality assurance audits across servicing projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering
· Minimum 5years’ experience in Ship Building, afloat repairs & Oil and gas related projects.
· Keen to learn, possess positive attitude and able to work independently
· Physically fit to work onboard vessels and outdoor conditions when required
· Competent in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Words
· Knowledge in Microsoft Project Scheduling & Auto CAD – Will be an added advantage
· Certification of Ship Repair Manager & Safety Assessor – Will be an added advantage.
