STUDIO CLEANING & MAINTENANCE HANDYMAN

Full-Time | Fitness & Pilates Studios

Primary Work Area: Pasir Ris Central and Downtown East

Scheduled Support Location: Toa Payoh

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable, practical and hands-on person to keep our fitness and Pilates studios clean, presentable and well maintained.

Cleaning is a core part of this position. You will also carry out painting, wall touch-ups, simple DIY repairs and basic maintenance work during scheduled periods.

This is suitable for someone who takes pride in keeping a workplace clean and enjoys practical, hands-on work. Specialist electrical, plumbing, fire-safety and major equipment repairs will be handled by appointed contractors.

Training and guidance can be provided for studio-specific maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Studio Cleaning and Upkeep

  • Clean and sanitise training equipment and high-touch surfaces.
  • Clean toilets, showers, changing rooms, reception and common areas.
  • Sweep, vacuum and mop floors.
  • Empty rubbish bins and replenish essential supplies.
  • Conduct regular cleaning rounds during the shift.
  • Carry out scheduled deep cleaning.
  • Keep studios clean, safe and ready for members throughout the day.
  • Monitor stocks of cleaning and maintenance supplies.

Painting and DIY Work

  • Paint studio walls and carry out wall touch-ups.
  • Patch minor marks, holes, cracks and damaged surfaces.
  • Perform simple DIY repairs and improvement work.
  • Replace or adjust basic fixtures, fittings and accessories.
  • Assemble or repair simple furniture, storage and display items.
  • Use common hand tools safely and properly.

Basic Studio and Equipment Maintenance

  • Conduct routine visual checks of studio fixtures and training equipment.
  • Tighten loose fittings and carry out simple adjustments.
  • Lubricate or clean appropriate moving parts where trained to do so.
  • Identify damaged or unsafe equipment and report it promptly.
  • Place defective equipment out of use when instructed.
  • Assist with scheduled preventive maintenance.

Contractor Support

  • Photograph and report defects requiring specialist repair.
  • Provide contractors with access to the studio.
  • Show contractors the reported problem or work area.
  • Observe the work and report whether the visible scope has been completed.
  • Highlight incomplete or unsatisfactory items to management.
  • Ensure the work area is left clean and safe after completion.

Quotation approval and technical certification of specialist work will remain with management or qualified contractors.

Typical Work Mix

The role will generally comprise:

  • 60–70%: Studio cleaning and hygiene
  • 20–30%: Painting, touch-ups and simple DIY work
  • 10%: Inspections, equipment upkeep and contractor support

The actual work mix may vary depending on maintenance needs.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in cleaning, painting, handyman work, maintenance or property upkeep is preferred.
  • Willing to clean toilets, showers and changing rooms as part of the regular duties.
  • Able to perform painting, touch-up work and simple DIY repairs.
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools and ladders safely.
  • Physically fit and able to carry supplies and move light equipment.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
  • Careful and attentive to cleanliness and workmanship.
  • Able to identify defects and provide clear updates with photographs.
  • Able to use WhatsApp for work communication and reporting.
  • Able to travel to Toa Payoh on scheduled support days.
  • Experience maintaining gym or training equipment is advantageous but not essential.
  • Training will be provided for relevant studio-specific maintenance work.

Work Arrangements

  • Full-time permanent or contract position.
  • Primary deployment in the Pasir Ris and Downtown East area.
  • Support at Toa Payoh will be scheduled in advance where practicable.
  • Candidates will not ordinarily be expected to clean all locations every day.
  • Flexible scheduling may be discussed.
  • Occasional weekend or public-holiday work may be required according to the roster.
  • Authorised transport costs between assigned workplaces will be reimbursed according to company policy.

Salary

S$2,400–S$2,900 per month, depending on experience and practical capability.

Candidates with stronger painting, DIY, equipment-maintenance or repair capabilities may be offered a salary toward the upper end of the range.
