[PERM] Phlebotomist Assistant – Acute Medical Unit #HZT

You are required to assist the healthcare staffs by providing venepuncture service and rendering basic care for patients in Acute Medical Unit.

Job Description

• Perform venepuncture for the collection of blood specimen for dispatch to the laboratory
• Update in electronic medical record for blood specimen that has been collected and dispatched to the laboratory
• Perform blood sugar check using a POCT machine
• Practice universal precautions when performing any procedure
• Assist nurse in administering oxygen for patient
• Assist patient in performing lower limb exercises
• Perform inventory management in the ward
• Assist healthcare staff in re-positioning of patient in bed
• Assist in improving, identifying and implement changes in the work processes of the Phlebotomy service
• Orientate and guide new Phlebotomy staff
• Perform any other duties assigned by the nursing supervisors

Requirements

• Min Higher NITEC or Diploma in Nursing
• Recognized phlebotomist certification
• Min 2 years of relevant experience in performing venipuncture
