Business Development Manager

The role

We are looking for a motivated Business Development Manager to grow Futang’s trade customer base in Singapore. This is a hands-on, client-facing role combining B2B sales development with secure diamond handling and operational support.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business with jewellers, jewellery retailers, manufacturers, designers and related trade customers.
• Prospect through calls, visits, networking, referrals and digital outreach.
• Arrange and conduct client meetings, present suitable diamonds, follow up on quotations and build long-term customer relationships.
• Maintain accurate records of leads, client interactions, quotations, orders and market feedback.
• Support client deliveries and day-to-day sales operations.
• Assist with approved marketing activity across Instagram, WeChat and other relevant digital platforms.
• Represent the company at client meetings, trade events and jewellery fairs, including occasional travel when required.

Requirements

• GIA training, diamond-certification knowledge or experience buying, selling, grading or handling diamonds is highly advantageous.
• Two years of relevant experience in jewellery, natural diamonds or wholesale sales is preferred.
• Applicants with less direct experience may be considered if they have relevant gemology or diamond-grading education.
• Strong client-facing communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
• Organised, detail-oriented and able to support operational processes.
• Sales-driven, accountable and motivated to meet or exceed targets.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Mandarin capability is advantageous where needed to support specific client communication.

Salary and benefits

• Fixed monthly salary: S$4,000
• Sales commission for new business successfully brought on board
