Laser Cladding Technician / Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Operate laser cladding equipment according to approved procedures.
• Prepare workpieces by cleaning, machining and fixturing prior to laser cladding.
• Perform machine setup, calibration and routine operational checks.
• Monitor laser cladding process and adjust machine parameters as instructed.
• Carry out dimensional inspection and visual inspection of repaired components.
• Record production data, machine parameters and inspection results.
• Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping of laser equipment and work area.
• Follow all Quality, Safety and Environmental procedures.
• Report equipment abnormalities and quality issues to the Engineer/Supervisor.
• Support workshop activities, machining and welding work when required.
• Be prepared, when required, to attend vessels for on-site laser cladding or welding works, and to support other departments on assigned projects from time to time as directed by Management.

Requirements

• NITEC / Higher NITEC / ITE Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years in machining, welding, fabrication, CNC operation or mechanical repair.
• Experience operating laser equipment or CNC machinery is preferred.
• Understanding and able to intrepid of technical drawings, engineering designs and sketches.
• Familiar with functioning of laser system including robotic, welding heads, manipulators or, coding will be added advantage thus not required.
