Workshop Manager

Job Description

• Lead the entire workshop team and manage daily workshop operations to ensure smooth delivery
• Plan, schedule, and monitor all maintenance and repair works to ensure they are completed on time and meet quality standards
• Manage inventory of spare parts to ensure adequate stock levels
• Oversee and allocate workshop resources efficiently to optimize workflow and minimize downtime
• Monitor workload and performance of workshop staff to ensure productivity and quality of work
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and industry protocols in the workshop
• Ensure proper documentation for all repair and servicing works completed, including detailed records of parts used
• Develop and maintain the competency of the workshop team through ongoing training, development, and mentoring
• Act as the point of contact for government-related queries at the workshop (eg. worker safety etc.)
• Address any customer complaints related to workshop services
• Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by Management

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Min. 10 years of experience in managing a large-scale heavy vehicles workshop is preferred
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Good knowledge of truck maintenance, repair processes, and spare parts management
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
