Equity Research Analyst / Investment Analyst

Our client, a well-established global asset management firm, is looking to hire an experienced Equity Research Analyst / Investment Analyst to join its Asia Equities investment team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced portfolio managers and investment professionals, conducting in-depth equity research across Asian markets and contributing directly to investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct fundamental equity research and provide analytical support for Asia equity investment strategies.
• Cover companies across Asian markets, including India, Korea, Greater China, ASEAN, and Australia.
• Build, maintain, and enhance detailed financial models to support investment recommendations.
• Monitor existing portfolio holdings and provide timely updates on company developments, earnings, and investment risks.
• Generate high-quality investment ideas through company, industry, and macroeconomic research.
• Prepare comprehensive research reports and present findings to the investment team.
• Build and maintain relationships with company management, industry experts, and market participants to support research and channel checks.
• Prepare presentation materials for internal investment meetings and client presentations.
• Support business development and marketing initiatives where required.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in buy-side or sell-side equity research.
• Strong experience in fundamental equity analysis, financial modelling, and company valuation.
• Comfortable working as a generalist, covering multiple sectors and markets across Asia.
• Experience covering Indian equities is highly preferred. Experience covering Korean equities would also be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of macroeconomic trends, industry dynamics, and equity markets.
• Advanced proficiency in Bloomberg, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent analytical, research, and presentation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good understanding of investment compliance requirements and portfolio guidelines.
• Exposure to ESG analysis, AI-enabled research tools, or quantitative research techniques would be an advantage.
• Detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and proactive with a strong sense of ownership.
• Collaborative team player with an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for investing.
• Proficiency in Chinese or Korean is an advantage but not mandatory.
