Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • To operate Water / Wastewater Treatment Plant and to ensure that the Plant always meets customers’ contract requirements and NEA discharge or water product specifications
  • Maximize the Plant availability and reliability by following SOPs and meeting customers’ contract requirements and NEA discharge or water product specifications
  • Coordinate with customers’ control rooms on compliance of water/ wastewater flow and quality.
  • Enforce HSE within the Plant through PTW and physical inspection
  • Manage all maintenance works within the Plant through PTW and physical inspection
  • Follow and enforce SOPs / SWPs at all times when working in the plant
  • Report to the Operation Engineer any process upsets and malfunction of equipment. Where the Plant Engineer is not available, will seek for the assistance of the Lead / Senior Lead Technician for troubleshooting and/or mitigating of the process impact
  • Complete the line tracing of the plant and understanding the plant process flow
  • Knowledge of first line maintenance, for instance, comparing portable and online measurements, topping up demineralized water for TOC analyzer etc
  • Knowledge of tracking the critical equipment and Tank list, valve list and instrument list, informing the engineers if the equipment and Tank, instruments, valves or any associated items required preventive or corrective maintenance
  • Raise maintenance notifications via SAP whenever an equipment fault is observed
  • Knowledge of Permit-to-Work (PTW) system and Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) system
  • Fills up log sheets, shift reports, and daily reports accurately
  • Carry out plant mechanical routine duties diligently. This also includes housekeeping within the plant premises
  • Carry out plant sampling and measurement duties in a timely and accurate manner
  • Highlight to the Operation Engineer when there is low inventory of chemicals and logistics
  • Successful candidate can be appointed as part of the Company Emergency Response Team (CERT) (training will be provided)

Qualification, Skills & Experience

  • ITE / Diploma with knowledge of Water / Wastewater treatment will be an advantage
  • Minimum of two years' experience in plant operations relating to Water or Wastewater treatment
