Reporting to the FP&A Payroll Associate manager, the Finance Support Specialist (12 months contract) is responsible in applying accounting principles to process financial transactions, maintain accurate financial records and prepare financial reports; as well as ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations while supporting financial analysis, payroll activities, reconciliations and process improvements.

Your responsibilities will include

Working closely with the FP&A and Payroll team in Singapore, this role is also responsible to work effectively with internal teams and external service/payroll providers locally and in different regions to ensure finance activities are completed accurately and on time. Other key responsibilities are (but not limited to):

• Support month-end accounting processes and payroll cycles by preparing reports, journal entry schedules, reconciliations and maintaining financial records.
• Assist in financial data analysis, budget variance reporting and resolving routine accounting queries/follow-up.
• Investigate routine reconciliation discrepancies and recommends potential corrective actions.
• Escalate unusual transactions and accounting issues requiring management review.
• Continually seek and implement/support implementation on improvements that reduce cycle time, improve productivity, documentation and reduce overall costs; including policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver finance activities accurately and within established timelines.

About you

If you have:

• Basic or substantial experience or working knowledge in accounting and reconciliation, payroll or finance support experience and a minimum Diploma in Accountancy / Finance.
• Experience communicating or working effectively with local and global internal and external stakeholders are highly advantageous.
• Experience participating or involving in systems/process improvement projects/initiatives are highly desirable.
• Attribute and desire to take initiative and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Excellent command of English language, both oral and written. Candidates with additional language skills (i.e. Korean or Japanese) are highly desirable.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Experience in using Power Query is highly advantageous.
• Existing rights to work and live in Singapore at the time of application.
