Job Summary

The Student Coordinator at Milchel guides international students in their academic success and character development. This role acts as a mentor, supervisor, and bridge between students, parents, and schools. The coordinator fosters a structured, nurturing residential environment that promotes personal growth, discipline, and emotional well-being.

Responsibilities

Academic Guidance

  • Track students’ school assignments, test schedules, and report cards regularly to monitor academic progress
  • Oversee daily mandatory evening study hours to maintain student focus and discipline
  • Arrange targeted tutoring or remedial support for students needing academic assistance
  • Assist students in setting realistic weekly and monthly academic goals to enhance performance

Character & Life Skills Development

  • Enforce daily routines, curfew rules, and personal hygiene standards to instill discipline
  • Conduct regular one-on-one mentoring sessions to support behavioral and emotional growth
  • Guide students in developing time management, budgeting, and room cleanliness skills to foster responsibility
  • Mediate peer conflicts calmly using restorative justice principles to maintain a harmonious environment

Communication & Administration

  • Provide regular, detailed progress reports to overseas parents to keep them informed
  • Attend parent-teacher meetings and maintain communication with school counselors to coordinate student support
  • Document daily behavioral observations, medical issues, and academic milestones accurately for record-keeping

Required competencies and certifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with teenagers in boarding, teaching, or counseling settings
  • Ability to plan and deliver work according to schedule to meet deadlines
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to work independently to ensure accuracy and reliability
  • Strong emotional intelligence, active listening, and conflict resolution skills
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for residential duty

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Ability to communicate clearly in English and Chinese to support workplace interactions
