Legal Counsel
KELINGTON ENGINEERING (S) PTE. LTD.
- Review and analyse client contracts, subcontracts, and other contractual documents to identify commercial, contractual, and legal risks.
- Prepare, draft, review, and negotiate contract terms, amendments, Particular Conditions, and other contractual documents.
- Provide commercial and contractual advice by reviewing and commenting on client and subcontractor contract terms to safeguard the Company's interests.
- Prepare and issue contractual notices, correspondence, claims, responses, and other formal communications in compliance with contractual requirements.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) or an equivalent legal qualification.
- Strong knowledge of construction law, commercial law, and contract law.
- Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction contracts, subcontracts, and commercial agreements.
- Good understanding of standard forms of construction contracts, such as FIDIC, PSSCOC, SIA, NEC, or equivalent.
- Experience in contract administration, including advising on claims, disputes, variations, extensions of time (EOT), liquidated damages (LD), and contract risk management.
- Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, and subcontractors.
