Client is an expert in automation and digital systems for pharmaceutical and biotech manufacturing, seeking to hire a yearly contract renewable Automation Engineer.

Your new role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in the engineering design, development, and deployment of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), with a strong focus on Emerson DeltaV platforms.

This role bridges process engineering and automation, ensuring robust, compliant, and scalable systems for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

  • Lead CSV and validation activities for DeltaV automation projects.
  • Design and configure DeltaV Batch systems using ISA-88 standards.
  • Deliver projects through design, testing, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Maintain secure, compliant, and high-availability automation infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot complex DCS, PLC, SCADA, and instrumentation issues.
  • Ensure GMP, GAMP, and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
  • Manage validation records, technical documentation, and audit-ready reports.
  • Provide maintenance, support, and lifecycle management of automation systems.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Certified in Emerson DeltaV (Batch, Continuous, SIS, Upgrade, and Cybersecurity).
  • Strong CSV experience in GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biotech environments.
  • Expertise in DeltaV DCS, Batch, SCADA, PLCs, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Experience with Hyper-V, HCI, and virtualization infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Kneat or similar validation management platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of GAMP, GMP, and FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance requirements.
