Phlebotomist (Part-time)

Job Summary

Perform safe and accurate venipuncture to collect blood specimens, ensuring patient safety and specimen integrity in a rehabilitative care setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture to collect blood specimens safely, accurately, and efficiently from patients
• Verify patient identity to ensure correct specimen labeling and maintain specimen integrity
• Dispatch specimens to the laboratory promptly while following infection-control and patient-safety protocols
• Monitor and maintain availability, expiry, and condition of phlebotomy equipment and consumables
• Communicate empathetically and patiently with patients to provide a positive experience during specimen collection
• Work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team to meet operational demands
• Organize work tasks meticulously to handle high specimen volumes while maintaining composure and resilience

Required Competencies and Qualifications

• Recognised certification in Phlebotomy, or a Certificate in Nursing with documented phlebotomy competency
• At least 2 years of relevant working experience as a phlebotomist
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage patients with empathy and patience
• Highly organised and meticulous work habits
• Ability to remain resilient and composed under high-volume conditions
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Ability to work from Monday to Friday, 8 am to 1 pm
