Position: Workplace Safety Coordinator (WSH Coordinator)

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and implement the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Management System at project sites.
  • Ensure compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act, subsidiary legislation, and the Company's safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
  • Recommend and implement corrective and preventive measures to eliminate workplace hazards.
  • Carry out risk assessments and assist in the development, review, and implementation of Safe Work Procedures (SWPs).
  • Monitor work-at-height activities and ensure all statutory safety requirements are complied with.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and induction training for employees, subcontractors, and visitors.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses, and prepare investigation reports with recommendations.
  • Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.
  • Maintain and update WSH records, inspection reports, permits, training records, and statutory documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities on WSH-related matters.
  • Assist in safety audits, inspections, and compliance assessments conducted by clients or government agencies.
  • Promote a positive safety culture by encouraging safe work practices and continuous safety improvement.
  • Perform any other WSH-related duties assigned by the Project Manager or Management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5, or GCE "N" Level English and Mathematics (Grade 5 or above).
  • WSQ Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B).
  • Successfully completed the Manage Work at Height course.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) working experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Workplace Safety and Health Coordinator (WSHC) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
  • Experience in facilities management, construction, M&E, or engineering projects.
  • Good knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Health Act and its subsidiary regulations.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
  • Able to work independently and liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
