The Engineer / Senior Engineer, Design is responsible for leading sitewalk-throughs and designing cost-effective, energy-efficient chiller plant andairside systems for prospective projects. The role supports the Business Development team in securing project contracts and facilitates clients in obtaining relevant authority approvals, legislative clearances, grants, and Green Mark certification. The role also supports sustainability-related project components from conception to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site surveys and walk-throughs to understand client requirements and assess existing chiller plant and airside system conditions.
  • Design efficient and cost-effective chiller plant and airside systems, including equipment sizing, specification review, quotation requests, and design simulations based on efficiency and cost considerations.
  • Support Business Development team by providing technical design input and solutions to strengthen project proposals and bids.
  • Carry out Green Mark certification consultancy, including site assessments, gap analysis, and recommendations to help clients achieve target Green Mark ratings.
  • Prepare and submit applications for relevant authority approvals, legislative clearances, grants, and certification requirements on behalf of clients.
  • Work closely with internal business units to communicate design intent, targeted system efficiencies, and operational strategies to ensure project goals are met.
  • Provide technical input on sustainability options, market trends, client needs, process improvements, and industry best practices.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental/Sustainability studies, or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in designing, building, or operating cooling systems.
  • Knowledge of ACMV system design, data collection and analysis, critical thinking, and design thinking practices.
  • GMAAP/GMAP certification and SCEM certification would be advantageous.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, creative thinking, customer orientation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Personable, professional, calm under pressure, and data-driven in approach.
