Research Analyst (Asian)

CMT Digital is expanding its investment team In Asia Pacific. This is an opportunity to get in at the ground floor and work alongside our investment team in Asia and our research team in Chicago while investing in game-changing companies and a dynamic existing portfolio.

The ideal candidate comes from a research or technical background; enjoys digging into source code and understanding cryptographic mechanisms, but also has some business fluency and eagerness to evaluate businesses holistically.

Responsibilities

• Work with the global investment team to source and identify new investment opportunities, in particular in Asia
• Synthesize and distill industry trends and conduct technical research to create investment theses
• Conduct technical due-diligence and analysis on potential investments
• Support portfolio companies post-investment on various business building initiatives
• Conduct continuous monitoring of blockchain data and activity

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional work experience, ideally in an investment or operator related role in either fintech or Web3.
• Personal interest or connection to broader crypto/blockchain ecosystem
• Nice to have: Demonstrated track record of on-chain activity
• Mandarin language fluency is a plus
• BS in computer science or other engineering discipline is a plus.
• Familiarity with broader landscape of blockchain infrastructure, and the cryptographic methods that enable them.
