The company is a highly integrated Oil & Gas organization with operations across Asia. Combining large-scale physical processing with a forward-looking commercial strategy, they are currently hiring a Shipping Operator in Singapore to oversee the end-to-end operational management of petrochemical cargo movements.
Role
Reporting to the Shipping Operations Manager, the Shipping Operator will be responsible for executing and managing end-to-end shipping operations to support refinery supply and trading activities. This includes coordinating vessel nominations and movements, liaising with shipowners, charterers, terminals, inspectors, and agents, handling shipping documentation, monitoring voyage performance, and ensuring timely cargo delivery. The role will also involve tracking operational costs, supporting demurrage activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant maritime and HSSE regulations.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline, with 2 to 5 years of experience in shipping operations within the petrochemical, oil & gas, or commodity trading industry. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of shipping documentation, charter parties, laytime and demurrage processes, as well as familiarity with tanker operations and maritime regulations. Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills, coupled with attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment, will be essential for success in this role.
