Senior Accountant

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations

• Oversee the full set of accounts for assigned legal entities.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles, ensuring adherence to tight deadlines.
• Review and approve journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and deliver monthly P&L analyses with detailed variance commentary, along with financial insights for senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS/SFRS standards and group accounting policies.

Intercompany & Revenue Accounting

• Review and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances, resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely settlements.
• Ensure revenue recognition aligns with IFRS requirements.
• Monitor AR/AP ageing and follow up on significant outstanding balances.

Audit, Tax & Compliance

• Lead statutory and group audits for assigned entities, coordinating with external auditors to ensure timely completion.
• Prepare and review GST filings, corporate tax returns, and supporting audit documentation.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations (e.g., ACRA, IRAS) and internal control frameworks.

Process Improvement & Internal Controls

• Enhance internal controls and strengthen accounting governance.
• Identify process gaps and implement corrective measures.
• Drive initiatives to improve reporting efficiency, data accuracy, and process standardization across entities.
• Support system and process enhancements, including ERP and reporting tools.

Business Partnering

• Work cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Shared Services, and business teams.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Provide actionable financial insights to inform business decisions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or a professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, or CPA.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience, ideally within Multi-entity or regional finance environments, Trading, treasury, or shared services setups
• Strong understanding of IFRS / SFRS standards
• Financial reporting and internal control frameworks
• Prior audit experience (e.g., Big 4 or equivalent) is an added advantage
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is preferred
