Chartering Manager

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Chartering Manager to lead the growth of our client’s RORO and Breakbulk business across Southeast Asia. This role will focus on developing new cargo opportunities, expanding strategic partnerships, and strengthening the company’s presence within the project logistics and heavy-lift sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead chartering activities for RORO and Breakbulk vessels, with a strong focus on project cargo, heavy-lift, and out-of-gauge shipments.
• Identify and develop new cargo pipelines, trade lanes, and business opportunities across Southeast Asia.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with cargo owners, EPC contractors, project forwarders, shipping lines, and logistics partners.
• Negotiate and conclude charter party agreements while ensuring commercial competitiveness and operational feasibility.
• Monitor market trends, freight movements, and cargo flows to identify strategic growth opportunities.
• Collaborate closely with operations and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution and high service standards.
• Support the development of long-term commercial partnerships and regional business expansion initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience in RORO and/or Breakbulk chartering within the shipping, marine, or project logistics industry.
• Strong network and established customer relationships across Southeast Asia.
• Solid understanding of project logistics, heavy-lift transportation, and specialised cargo operations.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop cargo opportunities and profitable chartering solutions.
• Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Entrepreneurial, results-oriented, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced commercial environment.
