Associate, Investment

• Degree qualified with 2 years of post-graduate investment experience gained with PE/ venture capital firms, or consulting firms or investment banks.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel for financial modelling and data analysis.
• Prior experience or exposure to financial modelling (e.g. DCF, fund cash flow modelling, scenario and sensitivity analysis).

Our client is an established and highly regarded international PE firm who is in a growth mode. For this role, we are looking at an associate, investment (with 1 to 2 related years of exp) to join the investment team focusing on funds of funds investment work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collate, validate and analyse data on private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC) fund investments.
• Track portfolio performance and key metrics and prepare regular monitoring reports for internal stakeholders.
• Perform financial analysis on new primary and secondary PE/VC fund investments.
• Evaluate direct co-investment opportunities, including assessment of business fundamentals, financial projections and return profiles.
• Prepare investment memoranda and presentation materials for Investment Committee discussions.
• Build and maintain financial models to evaluate different product structures and PE/VC fund return profiles.
• Apply appropriate modelling techniques and scenario analyses to support investment decisions.
• Design and present portfolio analytics to provide insights on performance, risk and exposure.
• Perform analyses required to support new product launches, including stress testing and sensitivity analyses.
• Contribute to the development and structuring of investment products, working closely with investment and product teams.

Ideal Candidate

• Degree qualified with 2 years of post-graduate investment experience gained with PE/ venture capital firms. Or you have management consulting exp gained with a consulting firm or IB experience gained with investment banks.
• Strong interest in finance, private equity and venture capital.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular Excel for financial modelling and data analysis.
• Prior experience or exposure to financial modelling (e.g. DCF, fund cash flow modelling, scenario, and sensitivity analysis).
• Capability in statistical programming languages (e.g. R) and/or data analytics tools (e.g. Power BI) will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
