Regional Compliance Officer (Analyst/Associate) - Leading Hedge Fund in Singapore

Our client is a global hedge fund in Singapore is seeking a Regional Compliance Officer to play a pivotal role in ensuring the firm’s adherence to regulatory requirements, particularly those governed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). This position involves supporting the development and implementation of compliance and risk management frameworks, conducting assessments, and providing guidance to business units. The ideal candidate should have at least 3+ years of in-house compliance experience (Investment Compliance/ Trade Surveillance experience) gained from brokerage or asset management firms in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle license applications, regulatory filings and reports
  • Assist with the development, implementation and administration of the Group compliance framework and policies
  • Conduct monitoring and surveillance of trading activities to detect and prevent market abuse, insider trading and other violations
  • Investigate and resolve alerts generated by trade surveillance systems, and escalate any potential issues to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Work on regional projects including system UAT, new investment models discussion, or system development
  • Assist with annual external audit and ad hoc regulatory requests

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, CRCM, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
  • around 3+ years of in-house experience in compliance, regulatory affairs within a hedge fund, asset management or brokerage firms
  • Experience in trade surveillance or investment compliance will be a plus
  • Good understanding of Singapore’s regulatory landscape, including MAS guidelines on securities, futures, and anti-money laundering.
  • Proven ability to multitask effectively in a high-pressure environment, handling multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex regulatory concepts clearly to non-experts.
  • Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • A positive, collaborative attitude with a commitment to ethical standards and team success.
