City: Singapore, Singapore
Salary: SGD 5,000 - SGD 8,000 / mo
Contract type: Full time

The opportunity

Halex Construction is a Singapore-based marine civil engineering company specialising in land reclamation, shore protection, dredging and marine works. We are looking for a Project Manager to take full ownership of our shore protection projects, from mobilisation to handover.

You will report directly to our Director, so you have a clear line to decisions, and you will run the site, the team and the client relationship as your own.

Website: www.halex.com.sg

What you will do

Deliver the project

• Own the project from start to finish: plan and sequence the works against the drawings and programme, and keep every work front on schedule.

• Survey and inspect the site early, to spot access, tide, weather and ground risks before they turn into delays.

• Run day-to-day site operations, coordinating our engineers, supervisors, subcontractors and shared plant and equipment.

Lead people and clients

• Be the main point of contact for clients and consultants. Keep them confident through clear site meetings and progress reports (some in Mandarin).

• Lead and grow the site team, and work closely with our QS, Finance and Admin colleagues.

Control cost, quality and safety

• Track labour, material and equipment costs against budget, forecast early, and flag any variance with a recommended action.

• Make sure the work meets the client’s requirements and our quality, environmental, health and safety standards on every shift, not just on inspection day.

• Prepare the technical reports and records that support your decisions and any claims or variations.

What you bring

Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering that is registrable with BCA as a Registerable Professional (RP), recognised by PEB or BCA.

• At least 5 years of site and project management experience in construction, reclamation or marine engineering.

• Working Mandarin, to deal directly with our Mandarin-speaking clients.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

• A track record of leading site teams and subcontractors, communicating clearly, and solving problems to meet deadlines and client requirements.

A plus

• Hands-on experience with shore protection or coastal structures, e.g.revetments, seawalls, rock works

What we offer

• Competitive salary package.

• Benefits: medical, annual leave, transport or site allowance.

• Learn directly with the Director/MD

• Work that protects and extends Singapore’s coastline, with real ownership from day one.
