Marine Underwriting Executive (General Insurer) #BLM

Jobs Responsibilities

• Support the underwriting and renewal of Marine Cargo insurance, including reviewing risk information and preparing underwriting recommendations.
• Assess and underwrite straightforward marine risks within assigned authority and guidelines, ensuring appropriate pricing, terms and profitability.
• Prepare quotations and marine rating information; follow up with brokers and intermediaries on new business, renewals and mid-term policy changes.
• Coordinate policy issuance by providing complete underwriting instructions and documentation; conduct sanctions checks and review policies and broking slips for accuracy.
• Monitor portfolio performance, loss ratios, large claims and risk control activities; support facultative reinsurance requirements where necessary.
• Maintain underwriting records and statistics; prepare monthly reports and analyse portfolio and market developments for business reviews.

• Relevant experience or knowledge in Marine Insurance, Marine Cargo, Underwriting or General Insurance would be advantageous.
• Good numerical and analytical skills with an interest in risk assessment, pricing and portfolio management.
